Welcome to This Month in TechTransThai of May 2026!
Here’s a collection of news from the TechTransThai Community in this month.
Mapping Thailand
mrrpmeowfurry did a ten-temple day trip, and mapped them all on OpenStreetMap! Here are all the mapped/updated temples
- Wat Worachan
- Wat Phrao
- Wat Sawang Arom
- Wat Chee Sukkasem
- Wat Phihan Daeng
- Wat Phranon
- Wat Phra Loi
- Wat Saraphi
- Wat Khae
- Wat Pa Lelai

TechTransThai System Operator
TechTransThai now has 2 Syncthing relay servers across 2 physical sites. This allows us to have more reliable Syncthing connectivity for the whole region, while also improving combined capacity. Notice the newly added relay at Syncthing Relay stats

Branding
TechTransThai project logos and other branding assets are now officially available for media use, at TechTransThai Forge
Little Lines
After a long, careful consideration, we’ve decided to sunset Little Lines, our “Little” proof-of-concept wheelchair navigation app using OpenStreetMap. As the project tried to address accessibility gaps, maintaining it became unsustainable for our small team.
For wheelchair users, there is another similar commercial app not affiliated with us called GOOSEWAY.
Little Line’s code shall be archived and remain open source on Codeberg.
Security Research
We have attended UMASSCTF 2026 and WAN LAI CTF 2026, which had lots of Good First Issue-like questions for our new learning members. Check out the corresponding blog posts here
We need your help
TechTransThai is the work of contributors helping in their free time using their own small budgets, and as we are running low on available contributors, we are being stretched thin. If you like what we do, please consider:
- Joining our chats and say hi,to signal that our projects matter to you.
- Contributing to our projects listed on the website, or reviving archived ones.
- Spreading the word!
That’s all!
That’s what we’ve been up to for now. Stay tuned for our next blog post via RSS or Telegram!
