Welcome to This Month in TechTransThai of July 2026!

Here’s a collection of news from the TechTransThai Community in this month.

Organization

On the 23rd of July, TechTransThai officially turns 3 years old! Happy (belated) birthday!

Three years ago, we started as a small umbrella for a content creator and BOINC crunching efforts. Today, we have became a big collection of various open source projects and community efforts.

We appreciate everyone contributed to the project, be it our users, contributors, maintainers or sponsors. The project would not came this far without you.

Additionally, on the 25th, we have also been founded as a “Group of Persons“ under Thai law, which grants us some niceties from our legal status, such as being able to have a central fund, and thus the ability to sponsor events.

Our members founded TechTransThai as a “Group of persons” under Thai tax law. Now that we have some legal status, this allows us to do more financial-related things such as sponsoring events in the future.

App Localization

A new member, crystal (that’s me!), has joined TechTransThai to revive and maintain the previously archived App Localization project, with Late Night Defender also stepping up to co-maintain the project. crystal has also made some changes to the project’s page, so that translation progress is more transparent and easily viewable.

This new homepage also reflects a new methodology that has been adopted, inspired by Compute4Change, to allow for ease of managing translations of multiple projects: focusing on two projects at a time, decided regularly by community vote.

Compute4Change

We hit our goals on July 23rd and got about 621k credits for NumberFields@home at the end of the month. Thank you everyone for your contributions!

Security Research

We have attended SekaiCTF 2026 and Willamina released a write-up of it, on behalf of the TechTransThai Security Research team. Read it here on TechTransThai Blog.

Miscellaneous

Late Night Defender has made a new artwork for TechTransThai, this time in the concept of “Unboxing the nice stuff”.

Unbox

This will be displayed on the front page, replacing previous VTuber-style logo.

We need your help

TechTransThai is the work of contributors helping in their free time using their own small budgets, and as we are running low on available contributors, we are being stretched thin. If you like what we do, please consider:

  • Joining our chats and say hi, to signal that our projects matter to you.
  • Contributing to our projects listed on the website, or reviving archived ones.
  • Spreading the word!

That’s all!

That’s what we’ve been up to for now. Stay tuned for our next blog post via RSS or Telegram!
