Welcome to This Month in TechTransThai of August 2026!
Here’s a collection of news from the TechTransThai Community in this month.
App Localization
The first month reviving the App Localization project has been going well, and we have contributed and a bunch of translations to many projects, and for some, have reached 100%! This does not mean we will be stopping contributions to those projects of course, as they can change and update at any time.
Compute4Change
This month’s Compute4Change project was Milkyway@Home, and we went way past our goals! We expected to do 100k credits by the end of the month, but by the 15th we were already past that at 125k points, and by the end we reached over 278k points! Thank you everyone for your contributions!
Mapping Thailand
mrrpmeowfurry has updated the general area surrounding the Chalong Krung 1 bridge, including:
- Some apartment buildings
- 3 7/11 store locations
- Nang Ploen market
- A noodle shop
- A car dealer shop,
- And a demolished building.

See the full changeset here.
Miscellaneous
crystal wrote a blog post on how her (and her friend) made her school reconsider their uniform policy to be more trans-inclusive, a rarity among Thai high schools. Read it here on the TechTransThai Blog.
We need your help
TechTransThai is the work of contributors helping in their free time using their own small budgets, and as we are running low on available contributors, we are being stretched thin. If you like what we do, please consider:
- Joining our chats and say hi,to signal that our projects matter to you.
- Contributing to our projects listed on the website, or reviving archived ones.
- Spreading the word!
That’s all!
That’s what we’ve been up to for now. Stay tuned for our next blog post via RSS or Telegram!
